THE CLEANSING OF THE LEPER

LUKE 5:12-15

INTRODUCTION: The Hebrew word for leprosy means "to stick", "to scruge". The Jew felt this disease was from the hand of God. Psalms 51 :6,7 Reveal the cleansing of a leper. As described in Leviticus 14.

I. THE LEPERS CONDITION

FULL OF LEPROSY

 1. ITS EXAMPLE -Type of sin. It begins

from within -blood disease. It breaks out gradually. It spread's throughout the

book. Sow a thought, reap a word. Sow a word, reap a act. Sow a act, reap a character. Sow a character, reap a destiny.

2. ITS EFFECT-It is infectious, easily passed to others. It is leveling. James 2:10 All the same.

3. ITS END -It results in death. It can only be cleansed by the hand of God.

It is cleansed not cured.

II. THE LEPERS CONFIDENCE

 "If thou wilt" His confidence is seen in his.

 1. ATTITUDE-Fell down at Jesus feet.

Did nothing place of blessing, humility.

2. ACTION -Besought him. Brought Leviticus 14 alive.

3. ASKING -If thou wilt, not if thou canst.  

III. THE LEPERS CLEANSING

"Be thou clean."

1. BY FAITH -"He saw Jesus." vs. 12

2. BROUGHT FEEUNG -Proof of cleansing.

   "Jesus touched him." Origin, composition,

   object, leper first hand that ever touched

   him.

 3. BEGINS FRUIT BEARING -vs. 15
